Drink Plenty of Water

Staying hydrated is one of the best things you can do for your back and your entire body. Your body is made of ~70% water and if you do not drink enough water,  you are starving your body of its proper nutrients. Being properly hydrated can help lubricate joints, cushion discs, prevent muscle cramps, and aids in healing damaged tissue.  Before you take on an activity that may be hard on your back, make sure you have taken a few minutes to stop and drink a glass of water. This simple step could do volumes in preventing back pain later.

Action: Drink at least 8 Glasses of water per day.  To figure out how much water you should be drinking take your weight and divide by 2 and that is the amount of ounces you should drink per day.

Example: 150lb person/2= ~75ounces per day of water
